Quinta do Pedro is located about 900 meters from the sea at the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. You can get directly to the sandy beaches by wading out at low tide (tidal map is available in the house) The more public beaches are accessible via speedboats from Fuseta which is 2 km from Quinta do pedro kilometers or from Santa Luzia which is about 6-7 kilometers from houses. It is also possible to arrange for a local fisherman who, for a certain fee, undertakes to drive you out to the beach.

Golf means choices in the Algarve area as it is not far from Quinta do Pedro and all golf courses. There are several excellent golf courses within 8 - 10 kilometers of Quinta do Pedro; the most frequently visited by Quinta do Pedro's guests are Benamor or Quinta da Ria (which has two courses). There is also a local golf club (though without its own course) PT Golf Club whose members are almost exclusively Swedes living in the Tavira region or Swedes who are so-called long-stay guests. The various clubs organize competitions almost every week.
